Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes
Mission
Our mission is two-fold: One, to raise funds in support of programs that target specific needs of post 9/11 Wounded Heroes. To LFWMH, Wounded Heroes are combat wounded (Purple Heart recipients), those with PTSD or traumatic brain injury, and those with other afflictions who encounter challenges returning to active duty or assimilating back into civilian life. And Two, to ensure that the sacrifices of our servicemen and servicewomen are NEVER FORGOTTEN. Post-9/11 combat may have ended but the injuries (both physical and emotional), for so many may last a lifetime. We all owe them our deepest gratitude for fighting for the freedoms we enjoy. Everything we do and how we do it is done to convey that gratitude.
Vision
Simply stated, Our vision is to Change Lives !! .... as many as we can with the funds we raise. The vast majority of our donations to 9/11 Wounded Heroes fund service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD, through K9s for Warriors, $100,000 scholarships for children of Special Operators who have died in combat through Special Operations Warrior Foundation, $5,000 scholarships through Folds of Honor, up to 3 years of financial literacy training for Wounded Heroes receiving a mortgage-free home through Military Warriors Support Foundation and more.
Goals
- 1.We are an all-volunteer organization of about 200 strong who serve in a variety of capacities. As an organization, we strive to be recognized for the tangible benefits we provide to the Wounded Heroes we support and for the professionalism with which we conduct ourselves and our events. See the other responses for goals specific to our key leadership teams;
- 2.For our Solitication teams .... We ask that they call on as many businesses, friends, and other individuals as they can, in the time they are willing to commit, to maximize the donations we bring in each year.
- 3.For our Military Liaisons - We ask that they identify and invite as many Wounded Heroes as they can to one of our three (3) annual Wounded Hero Golf Classics, as our guests. We will not turn a Wounded Hero away.
