Mission

VALLEY SHELTERED WORKSHOPs' mission statement is: "Empowerment Through Employment: To provide adults with developmental disabilities a safe and supportive environment to help them achieve purposeful lives through the development of work skills."

Vision

We are transitioning VSW into a fully integrated Earn + Learn model that reflects real adult life: · Education through Lifelong Learner University (LLU) · Work through in-house paid contracts and community employment · Community through volunteers, electives, and partnerships This model allows us to grow with dignity, sustainability, and transparency. By 2028, Valley Sheltered Workshop (VSW) aims to serve the broader adult population with developmental disabilities in Kane County, Illinois. VSW will accomplish this by implementing a strategic expansion of its services to effectively engage a broader demographic of adults with developmental disabilities in Kane County, Illinois. This initiative, characterized by its ambition, aims to empower individuals by delivering targeted programs and opportunities that promote independence and facilitate active community participation.
