Mission

United Way mobilizes communities to action so all can thrive. True to our founding spirit, whenever there is a need in our communities, United Way is there. We bring a comprehensive approach to every challenge, actively listening and responding to local needs. Batavia United Way’s mission is to inspire the community to form strong partnerships to creatively address the ever-changing needs of Batavians by securing pathways to better healthcare, expanding youth opportunities, providing financial security, and building a more resilient community.

Batavia United Way’s vision is for all people in the community to have access to resources and opportunities to thrive.

Goals

1.Community Leadership: Identify service gaps and deepen relationships with key partner organizations in order to position BUW as the central "connector" for Batavia’s nonprofit network.
2.Equitable Community Impact: Establish clear success metrics for all focus areas (Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, Community Resiliency) to ensure that every donor dollar is backed by measurable results through the continued use of post-participation surveys and utilizing ALICE data and 211 data both measure effectiveness and need.
3.Diversify Revenue Streams & Build a Strong Organizational Foundation: Increase total income by 7% and retain 60% of annual campaign donors to build financial sustainability to support long-term community programs and strengthen board effectiveness through annual development sessions & modernized procedures to prevent burnout and ensure continuity.
