New Moms

Mission

New Moms serves young moms and children in Chicago who are experiencing poverty and homelessness. We exclusively serve this unique population, providing comprehensive supports and long-term coaching in the areas of stable jobs, safe homes, and strong families.<br><br>Services include:<br>Housing: housing & supportive services for homeless families (serves ~90 families annually).<br>Family Support: home-based parent coaching; child health & development monitoring; doula services supporting healthy pregnancies; and weekly parent support groups (serves ~200 families annually).<br>Job Training: career planning; education re-enrollment assistance; job-readiness training; paid transitional jobs at our social enterprise candle company, Bright Endeavors; and permanent job placement assistance.<br><br>All services are designed to serve both generations simultaneously--helping families to stabilize and plans for economic and housing independence--breaking the cycle of multi-generational poverty.
