Deborah's Place

Mission

Deborah's Place is Chicago's largest provider of supportive housing exclusively for women and is recognized as an innovative leader among homeless service providers locally and nationally. Since our founding in 1985, we have worked collaboratively with our participants, offered a range of high-quality services, and tried new approaches - putting Deborah's Place at the forefront of agencies making a difference to those in need in Chicago. Deborah's Place opens doors of opportunity for women who are homeless in Chicago. Supportive housing and services offer women the key to healing, achieving their goals, and moving on from the experience of homelessness.

Vision

Our vision is to reach functional zero for women’s homelessness in Chicago. Functional zero is attained when the number of people experiencing homelessness never exceeds the community’s capacity to move people into permanent housing thereby ensuring that homelessness is a rare and brief experience when it occurs. Deborah’s Place continues to pursue its vision of reaching functional zero by developing new and expanding existing partnerships to increase our ability to serve more unhoused women while improving our key supportive services.
