Mission

The mission of Bridge Communities is to transition families facing homelessness to self-sufficiency by working with partners to provide mentoring, housing, and supportive services. Bridge Communities is a dynamic, grassroots organization committed to transforming the lives of families experiencing homelessness through partnering with talented, resourceful individuals and groups in our community. Our program of housing, mentoring and empowering families focuses on moving them towards a goal of self sufficiency. Since its founding in 1988 Bridge Communities has become a regional and national leader in the service to families facing homelessness, as well as the surrounding issues that lead to homelessness, such as lack of affordable housing and well-paid labor jobs. Bridge Communities has counseled and mentored many non-profits, churches and lay-person organizations on establishing a transitional housing program based on our innovative model.

Goals

1.Evolve the Bridge Transitional Housing Program, which includes piloting new programming, expansion of employment services, and creation of formalized client and peer support programming.
2.Drive and expand community engagement, which includes diversifying our mentor partnerships, cultivating younger demographics, and strengthening our inclusion and belonging culture & messaging.
3.Sustain and develop our people, which includes diversifying all our stakeholders and standardizing education and assessment of all stakeholders.
