Several members of staff have participated in a 360 review process, which is a performance evaluation tool designed to gain constructive feedback about an employee from all directions: their managers, coworkers, and their direct reports. These reviews not only provide feedback, but also give the employee a better understanding of their contributions to an organization, as well as actionable steps for growth. Bridge Communities proactively works with and supports local and statewide community advocates on issues relating to homelessness and affordable housing to create solutions to the issues faced by extremely low, low and moderate income residents.
Bridge is a Founding member of the DuPage County Homeless Continuum of Care (CoC), which comprises more than 50 countywide organizations working together to create solutions to the issues faced by extremely low to low-income residents and to maintain a seamless network of community resources for DuPage County homeless population.
Bridge has invested in a full-time Director of Data and Evaluation, helping us study the long-term effects of our program and graduates, and identifying areas for modifications and improvements to lead to better outcomes for the families we serve.
Bridge Communities actively participates in social media, with thousands of followers across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
As we look back at the last year and a half, it becomes clear that it was a time of growth and adaptation for Bridge Communities. Soaring rates of inflation, the scarcity of affordable housing and childcare, and increased mental health and family safety concerns have all posed new challenges to our community and, accordingly, the number of families requesting Bridge’s services continues to climb.
Fortunately, thanks to the support of our community, Bridge Communities is evolving to meet these changing needs through innovative programming that improves the experiences of the families, and ultimately their outcomes.
Our new Stability Program allows us to work with families with more complex needs through direct case management and supportive services, preparing families for successful entry into our Transitional Housing Program. Seven families were welcomed into this program in 2022, and several have already progressed into our Transitional Housing Program.
To better understand the societal disparities and inequities in which we live, and how Bridge can better serve the needs of our diverse clients and community, we formed an Equity and Belonging Task Force. Through our learnings, we will bridge gaps and differences while building trust and promoting systemic change with our volunteers, clients, and the community.
We are also proud to have launched a new client support initiative. By offering client families peer-to-peer support workshops, families come together in fellowship, learn strategies to heal from past traumas, build resilience, and create connections with others who share lived experiences. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
