Vision

EYSO envisions a community that engages with music as an integral part of life, sparking curiosity and exploration while cultivating artistry, leadership, and collaboration. We strive to lead through innovative and comprehensive music education, empowering both students and professional colleagues in music to grow through dynamic rehearsals and performances that promote artistry and critical thinking.

Goals

1. 1.To reach the highest levels of teaching and performance for our students, and to grow our reputation as a leader in the Chicagoland youth orchestra ecosystem, we must continue to cultivate artistic excellence through transformative connective experiences at all levels. Concurrently, we must bolster the infrastructure that supports this programming.
2. 2.EYSO's students explore a comprehensive curriculum that aims not only to help these students develop artistically and technically, but also to prepare them for a future of complex ideas, creative risk-taking, and leadership as global citizens. To continue working toward our vision, we must deepen internal understanding of our unique pedagogy and grow serve as a professional resource for educators.
3. 3.To ensure EYSO maintains the fitness to carry out strategic priorities and meet its mission through its programs (what we refer to as "Organizational Vitality"), we must ensure staffing meets organizational needs, build a high-quality board infrastructure, develop EYSO's identity as a leader in music education, and invest in a financial structure that promotes long-term stability and growth.
