Mission

Christian Legal Society is a fellowship of Christians dedicated to serving Jesus Christ through the practice and study of law, the defense of religious freedom and life, and the provision of legal aid to the needy.

Vision

Christian Legal Society (CLS), founded in 1961, seeks to fulfill God’s command found in Micah 6:8 by bringing glory to God by inspiring, encouraging, and equipping Christians, both individually and in community, to proclaim, love, and serve Jesus Christ through the study and practice of law, provision of legal assistance to the poor and needy, and defense of the inalienable rights to life and religious freedom.

Goals

1.CLS’ Christian Legal Aid increases access to legal aid services for the poor, the marginalized, and the victims of injustice in America with the love of Christ.
2.CLS’ Center for Law & Religious Freedom defends and advances all Americans’ inalienable rights to religious freedom and life in the public square.
3.CLS’ Law Student Ministries ministers to thousands of students on more than 150 law school campuses and at strategic Christian colleges across the country.
