Mission

The purpose of the APA-IL is to improve the quality and credibility of Illinois Planning, serving planners by: Advancing the cause of planning in Illinois Enhancing planning skills and tools, building mutual support for Illinois planners Enhancing communication among planners Enhancing communication with affiliated organizations Being a liaison between National APA and Chapter members

Vision

The American Planning Association – Illinois Chapter (APA-IL) is the premier authority on urban planning issues and professional development for Illinois’ urban planners.

Goals

1.Continue to review and update existing programs and add new programs to meet new challenges if available capacity exists.
2.Provide a high level of member services and pursue opportunities for membership growth.
3.Maintain the conference as the premiere planning event in Illinois that connects planners and local officials to knowledge and each other.
