Mission

Our mission is to help girls and young women experiencing homelessness and other risks avoid violence, early pregnancy, and exploitation; and help them to explore and access the support, resources, and opportunities necessary to be safe, to grow strong, and to make positive choices for their lives.

Vision

We envision girls and young women thriving in safe, stable, and supportive communities.

Goals

1.Managing Growth - AFG experienced accelerated growth during COVID. Managing this scale of growth successfully requires prioritizing the building of our infrastructure and other types of capacity.
2.Building our Board and Individual Donor Base - We are committed to strengthening our Board relative to diversity (race, ethnicity, gender, LGBTQ+, expertise, industry, etc.), skills and experience.
3.Permanent Supportive Housing - To expands AFG's range of housing supports for young women experiencing homelessness, we have partnered to build a 45-unit affordable housing complex in Detroit.
