Ratings are calculated from one or more beacon scores. Currently, we require either an Accountability & Finance beacon or an Impact assessment to be eligible for a Charity Navigator rating. Note: The absence of a rating does not indicate a positive or negative assessment; it only indicates that we have not yet evaluated this organization.
See rating report below to learn why this organization is not currently eligible.

    Adaptability Practices
    30 out of 30 points
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year
In March 2020, we were working with a partner family and had a home in process of completion. The school trades program that was building our home shut down, as schools moved to remote learning. We partnered with Larry Meyer Construction (LMC) to complete the home, and we will continue using LMC as construction project manager for our next home build, as they have helped us streamline and perfect the process. In addition, as our store was run exclusively by volunteers, we lost significant revenue from March 2020 until February 2021, when we were finally able to open on a limited basis. In 2022, we will be moving to a combination of a staffed store with volunteer support to better mitigate any future challenges due to our inability to bring in volunteers to support our store operations.
