Housing in Action

Mission

Housing in Action (formerly Urban Homeworks) is committed to advancing housing justice by creating dignified, stable, and affordable housing opportunities in Minneapolis. Since its inception in 1995, Housing in Action has sold 113 homes, including 75 rehabilitated properties and 38 new constructions. Additionally, we provide affordable rental housing to over 360 individuals across 120 units, predominantly serving households at or below 50-60% of the area median income (AMI). Through people-centered development, homeownership pathways, and civic engagement, we build strong, connected communities where historically marginalized voices are amplified, empowering neighbors to shape their future. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home, and we mobilize resources, partnerships, and advocacy to make that a reality.
