Mission

Advocates for Trans Equality Education Fund is dedicated to advancing the legal rights and social inclusion of transgender people throughout the United States. We bring together decades of experience advocating for equality and pushing for systemic change. Our work includes providing education on critical legal rights, advocating for policies that protect the well-being and dignity of transgender individuals, and engaging communities to foster greater understanding and acceptance. Our vision is a future where all transgender people live in safety and equality, free from discrimination and barriers to success. As a 501(c)(3) organization, we leverage our expertise to deliver impactful educational programs and research that uplift the transgender community, and inform policymakers, institutions, and the public about the importance of trans equality. Advocates for Trans Equality Education Fund was formed in 2024 from the merger of the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) and Trans Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF)

Vision

Advocates for Trans Equality fights for the legal and political rights of transgender people in America. Leveraging decades of experience on the frontlines of power, we shift government and society towards a future where we are no less than equal.

Goals

1.The 2022 US Trans Survey will be NCTE's third edition of a nationwide gathering of data on transgender lives which will shape our advocacy, policy and legal work nationwide.
2.NCTE created the Trans Legal Services Network to ensure that every transgender person has access to assistance navigating the name and gender change process and any other legal issues they may face.
3.Combating racism and poverty and uplifting the voices of marginalized transgender people across the US is key to the work of NCTE.
