Goals

1. 1.Serve as a catalyst for the adoption or expansion of renewable energy in the regions we serve. By introducing renewable energy technologies and innovative renewable energy solutions to remote communities we demonstrate what’s possible so for-profit entities can learn from our efforts and scale similar efforts.
2. 2.Empower communities most impacted by climate change. We achieve this by developing renewable energy solutions in partnership with local communities and by facilitating the recruitment of local people and organizations to install, operate and maintain the systems which make their communities more independent, resilient and sustainable.
3. 3.Alleviate energy poverty and/or displace fossil fuels. Empowered by Light deploys projects to bring clean, reliable renewable energy to remote and underserved communities around the world. Access to electricity has been shown to have significant impacts on health, safety and education as well as economic development.
