Mission

Wild Horse Butte Community Development is a Native-led 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation…building a path for the Lakota Oyate to achieve self-determination through traditional practices and teachings in order to promote healing and break the cycle of poverty. Our programs include a emergency Domestic Violence shelter (Sacred Shawl Shelter) the only one on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. The Lakota Internship Program, Diaper Donation Program, Donation Program and the Lakota Cultural Resiliency Program.

1.Provide healing horse camps to Sexual Assault survivors.
2.Continue with our Domestic Violence Shelter with continuing our services to men, women and children.
3.Bring transitional housing to our people whether they are coming from violence, homeless or incarceration.
