    Fostering Media Connections

    Mission

Fostering Media Connections publishes media and journalism to lead the conversation about child welfare, youth justice and youth homelessness in America. We operate four programs: * The Imprint is a national nonprofit online news outlet covering child welfare and youth justice. The Imprint's daily news stories, expert columns and op-eds provide in-depth coverage of the people, policies and practices that land children in foster care and criminal courts — systems affecting families and communities that are too often overlooked in our society. * Youth Voices Rising is a media training program for youth with lived experience in foster care, juvenile justice systems and/or homelessness. FMC launched the program in 2016 to help youth gain the skills and confidence they need to articulate the policy and practice changes needed to improve the system, because they are the experts on what solutions might work. * Fostering Families Today, a bimonthly resource magazine, which is distributed to foster, adoptive and kinship families across America. Fostering Families Today currently goes into the homes of thousands of foster, adoptive and kinship families and every subscriber receives six bimonthly magazines each year. Subscribers also have access to webinars, special issues and other resources. * SafeCamp Audio is a podcast network producing and promoting quality audio content on child welfare, youth justice and youth homelessness.
