    The Pet Compassion Centers

    Mission

The Pet Compassion Centers (PCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the human–pet bond by providing affordable veterinary care, preventive services, and essential pet resources to underserved communities, with a primary focus on supporting our community and workforce development. Following the successful completion of a multi-year pilot program, PCC operated at an expanded scale during the 2024. Through its nonprofit veterinary clinic, PCC provided approximately 18,000 spay/neuter surgeries and more than 540 specialized surgical procedures and hundreds of thousands of pounds of in-kind donations in support of municipal shelters, referred community cases and recipients of Meals on Wheels type programs. These services contributed to reduced shelter intake pressure, improved live-release outcomes, and increased access to veterinary care for families facing financial barriers. In addition to clinical services, PCC continued to partner with other organizations to distribute pet food and essential supplies to shelters and pet-owning households experiencing economic hardship. This program supports household stability, reduces pet surrender, and complements PCC’s preventive veterinary services by addressing one of the most frequently cited barriers to pet retention.
