Mission

To receive and administer funds for scientific, educational, civic, athletic, patriotic, cultural, social, and charitable purposes, and to more specifically encourage and foster active lifestyles. The primary activity has been the Joplin Memorial Run held each May, and has included a half-marathon, 5K run and kids run in honor of the 161 victims of the May 22, 2011 tornado in Joplin, MO. To date, proceeds in excess of $300,000 has been contributed to other 501 (c) 3 organizations. Active Lifestyle Events will rebrand in 2025 and will continue to encourage and support programs which improve the health and well-being of members of our community yet not forget those lost in 2011.
