Mission

Black Girls Code (BGC) is a pioneering nonprofit organization committed to empowering learners to become the next generation of tech innovators and leaders. Our mission is to build pathways for success in the technology industry by providing learners with the skills, opportunities, and resources they need to thrive. We focus on expanding access to tech education, equipping learners with in-demand skills, and fostering career readiness to ensure long-term success in the evolving tech landscape.

Goals

1.In 2026, the BGC Programs Team will ignite and educate 10,000 learners in 12 cities through a blend of in-person and virtual tech programs, offering hands-on, culturally relevant STEM education.
2.Create a transparent, efficient, and strategically aligned financial system that maximizes resources, supports sustainable growth, and ensures fiscal responsibility. We aim to enhance financial planning and operations across the organization, aligning every department’s financial actions with the overall mission.
3.Black Girls Code’s 18+ programs equip Black women with the skills, resources, and support needed to build successful and sustainable careers in tech. As the world’s largest community of future technologists, we prepare our community to succeed in the rapidly evolving tech landscape, with a strategic focus on college students and women early in their careers.
