Vision

To connect every guest to sea turtle, marine and coastal conservation by actively engaging them in creative learning experiences. Our resources are focused on three key components: conservation, education, and research. In action, this means we strive to create conservation initiatives that provide meaningful public engagement with tangible outcomes; provide accessible and fun public education; and participate in partnered research seeking long-term solutions to benefit sea turtle survival and our shared marine and coastal ecosystems.

Goals

1. 1.We knew we needed to expand and so we applied for Capital Improvements grants, worked hard and received two and were able to build an 1,152-square-foot Conservation Education Center! We also built two Pavilions, east and west to protect our visitors and add educational space.
2. 2.We adopted the Marine Debris Monofilament Recycling Program 22 months ago. We now have quantitative metrics on the number of miles of fishing line our Volunteer has collected. We added the Seashell Class. We added the Marine Mammal Class and most recently added the Jr. Sea Turtle Rescuer Experience. We also were awarded two grants to offer nine Ocean Wonders: Marine Life in Clay STEAM classes.
3. 3.For three years running, we have sought a Financial Review by a CPA firm of our financial management procedures within our Center. This puts another set of eyes on us and conveys our transparency.
