Mission

Friends of Yad Ezra V'Shulamit provides grants and assistance to Yad Ezra V'Shulamit in Israel. Founded in 1988, Yad Ezra V'Shulamit breaks the cycle of poverty in Israel, through the distribution of 12,000 weekly food baskets and thousands of food vouchers distributed across 95 distribution points in Israel. For Pesach and Rosh Hashanah, we send 60,000 holiday food baskets respectively which reaches 300,000 poor people. In addition, Yad Ezra V'Shulamit's projects include: * feeding 745 children a daily hot lunch * providing 145,000 hot meals for families in need * giving over 200 poor children homework help, a hot meal, therapy and support in our Children Centers * giving hundreds of widows and orphans food vouchers monthly * providing over 16,000 cans of baby formula to mothers who need help to feed their babies * distributing around 5,000 new backpacks and school supplies and 12,000 winter gear items to poor families * providing monthly food baskets and snacks to lone soldiers in the IDF * providing after school programming for Ethiopian-Israeli children and youth * providing low-cost weddings to orphans and others in need
