Zaka North Inc.
Mission
Founded in 1995, ZAKA is Israel’s dominant non-governmental rescue and recovery organization, with over 3,000 volunteers deployed around the country, on call 24/7 to respond to any terror attack, disaster or accident immediately, professionally and with the necessary equipment. ZAKA, a civilian volunteer organization with sole responsibility in Israel for dealing with incidents of unnatural death, works in close cooperation with all the emergency services and security forces. Honoring the dead is considered an act of Chesed Shel Emes (true virtue). In Judaism, this is considered the greatest mitzva (good deed) that can be performed, because the recipient has no way of repaying the kindness.
Vision
Building a Resilience Center for emergency response volunteers is a visionary project designed to enhance their capacity to serve in high-stress, high-stakes environments while ensuring their well-being. The center would serve as a comprehensive hub for training, mental health support, and physical recovery.
Goals
- 1.ZAKA is proud to announce its new Resilience Program, designed to empower emergency personnel with the tools they need to thrive in high-pressure environments. This innovative initiative provides comprehensive training, mental health support, and physical recovery services to volunteers and responders.
- 2.The program aims to enhance readiness through advanced simulations, foster emotional well-being with counseling and stress management, and ensure physical fitness with rehabilitation resources. By prioritizing the holistic needs of those on the front lines, ZAKA's Resilience Program sets a new standard for supporting emergency personnel in their critical mission to save lives.
- 3.Highlight ZAKA’s vital work in disaster response, recovery, and humanitarian aid. Share powerful stories of our volunteers' courage and resilience to inspire global recognition and support for their efforts. Collaborate with international organizations, governments, and NGOs to align efforts in disaster preparedness and response.
