To achieve our mission and bring our vision to life, it is critical that we look at the problem holistically. We have identified four interconnected strategic pillars to give focus to the various roles we play: WE INSPIRE governments, global policymakers, businesses, and individuals to take action WE RESEARCH in pursuit of scientific data on threatened species and critical marine habitats WE EDUCATE global and local communities to create and empower ocean guardians to develop long-term conservation solutions WE PROTECT marine life and their critical habitats by developing effective, sustainable conservation strategies

Goals

1. 1.Support, expand, and manage science-based marine protected areas in Mozambique through research to define and justify the efforts to save the pristine Bazaruto seascape (a Mission Blue Hope Spot).
2. 2.Safeguard whale shark populations from further decline through our Global Whale Shark Research & Conservation Program which focuses on developing innovative and practical conservation strategies.
3. 3.In Florida, perform the scientific studies required to fill knowledge gaps in manta ray life history, provide data to government, identify critical habitats, and promote conservation and awareness.
