BH initiated a Maternity Roundtable for the DFW area to share learnings with other maternity homes. Our ED and Sr Case Manager are given time for on line learning courses and have travelled to seminars to hone skills.

BH actively works with other maternity homes, pregnancy crisis centers, adoption agencies and other prolife organizations to attempt to develop an "end to end" path for homeless pregnant women to deliver their babies and become strong contributing members of society. From the time a woman decides to keep her child (Phase 1), BH offers shelter, counseling, clothing, food and medical care. in coordination with other groups through delivery for up to 1 year (Phase 2) and then offers these same support services for up to 3 years once the mother transitions out to an independent status (Phase 3.) Via the Maternity Roundtable ( a true networking effort) we share ideas and goods to support pregnant women.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
As a result of Covid, Bella House clients experienced greater difficulties in getting needed help. As a result, BH implemented two new programs: Transition and Outreach Support and a Mental Health Care program. Demand for our services skyrocketed in 2021/2022 with inquiries doubling. Because we don't have the capacity to offer housing to all, we implemented an Outreach program where we provide all services offered to our "sheltered" clients but without housing. This includes caseworker support, physical needs like food, diapers and other baby needs. We offer Mental Health counseling as well as on-going educational classes to strengthen our moms' life skill sets in areas like parenting, anger management and financial repair. We increased our payroll by 30% despite unknown revenue streams in order to better serve these women and babies in need. We also staged two Community Events in poorer communities where we offered babies supplies in exchange for completion of life skill classes offered on site. Over 150 families took advantage of these events.
