    Mission

    The mission of SNIP is to prevent the suffering & death of unwanted animals due to overpopulation and illness. Founded in 2016, SNIP Bus Mobile Spay and Neuter was created on a grassroots level to help meet the ongoing lack of affordable spay/neuter services to communities in need. SNIP is a low-cost spay and neuter clinic on wheels, which focuses its operations on the many underserved, often indigent pet owners in now five California counties. As of March 2024, we have “snipped” over 70,000 pets – and counting! We provide accessibility and affordability for our customers, many of whom have been devastated by the lingering effects of the pandemic. SNIP has no employees. Melanie Scherer is our Founder and Executive Director and also does not draw a salary, nor does the Board.
