Vision

While we observe measurable, immediate impacts related to the above objectives from our garden programs, we see our greatest impacts in the long-term shifts of our students’ understanding and engagement in the world. Because we work with students for three years (K-2nd), all lessons are deeply reinforced. A student enters our program afraid of dirt and unsure where food comes from, and leaves an expert in seed biology, advocating for healthy change in their family’s food habits, wanting to eat kale, and able to tend to their own garden.

Goals

1. 1.SproutEd ends after 2nd grade… what’s next for our students? Possible Areas of Expansion- SproutEd for K-3 Project-based variation of SproutEd for grades 4-5 After-school programming for grades 4-8
2. 2.LtL has collaborated with school food service depts. to try providing better engagement & access to healthy choices. Our 3-5 year aim is to revisit our strategies & build out a more cohesive program.
3. 3.To initiate a new program, engage our communities, & increase fundraising, resources need to be balanced. We must also increase our capacity internally & delegate appropriately to be effective.
