The Dementia Society of America rolled out a ~500 public education workshop calendar on March3rd, 2020. That all came to an end within days of the train-the-trainer event we held. Each event was due to raise several hundred dollars.

We are engaging with similarly aligned nonprofits which might normally be considered competitors to create new awareness programs. We have published a White Paper for the life safety industry around the issues of elopement. We are working with care management teams across the country to increase coordination of referrals to those in need. We use social media and direct marketing to educate others about what Dementia is, and isn't. The the American Brain Coalition, we support national advocacy to increase funding and awareness for degenerative neurocognitive diseases.
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
In the last 18 months, we pivoted to "go all digital," as well as continued to maintain our 24/7 info line, 1-800-DEMENTIA®. We did it by employing multiple call centers - to back one another up in case of COVID labor shortages. We also moved into a larger workspace to allow for better airflow and social distancing among volunteers and other team members.
