Vision

We envision a Kirkland where philanthropy is a shared civic value and people feel connected to the well-being of their community.

Goals

1. 1.Continue to evolve the Ignite Kirkland community funding program, striving to fully-fund all accepted grant proposals. Focus on grantmaking, capacity-building and connection. Demonstrate the Foundation's role as community connector and catalyst to build nonprofits through connecting and shared learning. Act as a force multiplier in the community.
2. 2.Transition from startup to sustainable operating model by diversifying revenue across individuals, grantmakers, businesses and government. Cultivate partnerships that provide sustainable & complementary resources, visibility and shared leadership. Build/evolve systems that make it easy for people to give and participate in locally-rooted philanthropy.
3. 3.By actively engaging with & listening to members of our community (nonprofit leaders, government officials, community volunteers), identify unmet needs in the community and close the gaps through convening and grant-making. Support community activities that promote a culture of philanthropy. Build on momentum of 2025 Morning Matters pantry-building campaign with 2026 Summer Meals initiative.
