Vision

We began these programs 11 years ago. We have proven that you can feed, educate and help your communities without salaried staff, nor a fancy office with all of the traditional overhead that comes with it. We have been going strong with all volunteers and work from our homes to avoid the costs. We will continue to offer our FREE life changing programs as long as a need for free education exists. We teach in the dirt of a community garden, not in a classroom. We even built the first of its kind outdoor teaching kitchen in the middle of a community garden, in the middle of a residential neighborhood. We also began the first community tool lending library anywhere in California besides Berkeley and Oakland to help fire survivors who were ground zero for Camp Fire, then also affected by the Oroville Dam collapse, Bear Fire, Dixie Fire and most recently, the Park Fire. We are changing lives and rebuilding disaster exhausted communities with our innovative programs.

Goals

1. 1.Our original programs are all still going strong, but with so many disasters locally, we always look for innovative ways to expand existing programs and to add new ones.
2. 2.We have expanded our programs into the Hiway 70 corridor of communities that have been affected by 6 disasters in 6 years. Our community tool lending library has been life changing for so many. We don't just have hammers and screwdrivers, but real tools needed for rebuilding their homes and properties like chain saws, wood chippers, wood splitters and so much more.
3. 3.We brought in a mobile sawmill and backhoe tractor due to changing needs after so many fires. We teach 100' defensible space clearing and more as we mill their burned trees into usable lumber or trench for water and electrical and level pads with backhoe.
