Boys Town

Boys Town is a beacon of hope for America's children and families through its life-changing youth care and health care programs across the United States. Founded by Father Edward Flanagan in 1917, Boys Town is over 100 years strong. Through a continuum of family services, the nonprofit, nonsectarian organization provides the right services at the right time based on a child's or family's needs. Boys Town offers children and families services in their own homes, or, when necessary, family-like out-of-home services to children. Boys Town works with communities and schools in order to meet the growing and more diverse needs of today's children and families. The nonprofit touches the lives of more than 2 million people each year.

Yes. We offer professional development and training for all employees. Upon hire, our employees attend various trainings about our program model, and various leadership training. Boys Town has robust DEI training available to all staff and over the last five years has over 500 employees signed up for various employee resource groups. There is additional leadership training available through these groups as well. Boys Town also has a hub entitled Boys Town University that is available for all employees to enroll in various classes. To name a few: "Can We Talk - Leadership Begins with "I", Ethical & Professional Standards, management & Leadership, Safety, Strategic Plan, Philosophy of Consultation and Roles of the Supervisor and giving feedback just to name a few. On the Boys Town University Hub there is an array of trainings offered to all staff.

Boys Town engages in all of the above listed activities. We are viewed as a thought leader in serving at-risk youth. We have a vast marketing plan and a strong advocacy department whereby we work at the local/state level all the way up to the federal level. Please reference Strategic Goal #3 listed on prior page.

Through all of 2020 and 2021 Boys Town had to nimbly and quickly adapt to making changes in our program services and in our hospital services. We've stood up telehealth systems, and placed many people to be able to work from home. Our National Hotline adapted quickly as our crisis calls increased during this time. Many of our youth were not able to visit their parents in person, so we quickly put systems in place whereby they could visit their families via video conferencing methods.
