Mission

Pound Hounds ResQ is a NYC-based animal rescue devoted to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals from the New York City shelter system and surrounding areas. We believe that every animal deserves a loving home—and finding that home takes thoughtful matchmaking, compassionate care, and a whole lot of heart. We consider each animal’s behavior, shelter environment, and individual needs, as well as the dynamics of the potential foster or adopter’s household, to ensure the best possible fit. We do not operate a physical facility. Instead, we rely on a network of dedicated foster homes who open their hearts and doors to help each animal decompress, heal, and prepare for a forever home. It’s a selfless act that changes lives—both human and animal—and we are endlessly grateful for our fosters who make every rescue possible.

Vision

We wish there will come a time when our mission to find homes for all unwanted pets will be reached. The unwanted and the unloved will no longer be as well strays no more.

Goals

1.Our focus is our foster base. We are constantly striving to strengthen and grow it. We are only as strong as they are. We give them the tools and information on how to do it right. We are a constant with them. They know they are supported. To achieve this - growing our base- is to get out on social media how important it is to foster.
2.We would like to develop a SENIOR for a SENIOR program. There is a big senior population. Many of them would love a dog and naturally we would not adopt young dogs to them but they need companionship and there are many senior dogs being surrendered. We'd love to pair them up, but we would need major funding to vet these dogs before placing.
3.We are trying to build up our donor program. We are currently looking to take on volunteers that are experienced in Grant Writing and finding which organizations line up with our values.
