Due to social distancing, we had to cease in-person educational outreach. Instead of sharing our iAnimal virtual reality films at events and universities, we directed viewers to https://ianimal360.com/ and used social media to shine a light on the abuse suffered by animals raised and killed for food.
How this organization adapted to changing conditions caused by COVID-19:
Due to the ongoing pandemic, Animal Equality has been unable to safely host in-person volunteer trainings and events. In response, we restructured and launched a new, fully virtual volunteer program in 2021, growing our active volunteer base by 30%. We now have an incredible team of skilled and passionate volunteers supporting our team with writing and editing, research, illustration, data entry, and more!
Innovations the organization intends to continue permanently after the pandemic:
The online volunteer program we launched during the pandemic has been a success and we will continue to offer it moving forward.
