As a result of the increase of the mandates coupled with the shortfall of the Organization’s Regular Fund budget to meet these objectives, resource mobilization has become vital. Member States and voluntarily finance specific programs based on their areas of interest and ability to contribute, the rising and sustained complexity of the challenges in the region have generated a higher demand for technical expertise and financial support. Financial and in‐kind contributions contribute to th exchange of best practices, strengthening national development strategies and eliminating the duplication of efforts. Support has made a significant impact across America, particularly in the areas where veterans are not able to travel to HQ location we sometimes must go to them. Contributions considerably improve the quality of work the WDFV conducts across the USA and is a relevant factor in the successful implementation of its programs.

Suicides among veterans are a larger worry now for the non-profit Working Dogs For Vets. "We're very worried about our veterans," Working Dogs For Vets Founder Kenneth Knabenshue said. He says their veterans, who are diagnosed with PTSD, already have twice the suicide rate of non-veterans. Now, the stress of social distancing, and increased isolation for veterans could be too much for some veterans to handle. Working Dogs For Vets is a non-profit, the group has more than 2000 teams and a 99% success rate in preventing suicides. Through their In house program, severely disabled Veterans are matched with service dogs to help them manage PTSD coupled with other disabilities. In addition to that, their No Veteran Left Behind program helps veterans to train their own PTSD service dogs by way of a National Network of Volunteer Service dog trainers. The Coronavirus has reshaped, NOT stopped our important work to support American Heroes. We want you to know we are open, but we are making some adjustments to stay safe as well. The majority of our teams are working remotely, others critical to our mission are behind closed doors to ensure the best practices of social distancing are implemented.
