Vision

Healing Justice envisions a world where all individuals, families, and communities harmed by wrongful convictions have holistic pathways to healing, and survivors of violent crime are not re-harmed by the criminal legal system. By fostering community partnerships, centering and mobilizing marginalized voices, and implementing restorative justice practices, we aim to break the cycles of harm perpetuated by historical inequities. Our work is driven by the experiences and needs of those harmed by a wrongful conviction.

Goals

1. 1.Offer a variety of transformative programs that provide individualized and group healing opportunities and enable recovery for individuals, families, and communities harmed by wrongful convictions.
2. 2.Provide transformative technical assistance programs, in partnership with local organizations, government agencies, and others, to help agencies and professionals expand post-conviction victim services and protect victims’ rights.
3. 3.Focus our outreach, engagement, and direct service efforts on a few regions with high numbers of exonerations and demonstrably invested in conviction review.
