How COVID-19 impacted the organization's operations financially:
Revenue from classes, memberships and products declined. We have yet to see a full recovery. Through donations, grants and aid we have been able to employ our full staff and continue supporting families through our programs.
How COVID-19 impacted the organization's delivery of programs:
Due to stay at home orders we had to stop our in person Childbirth Prep, CPR, Pregnant and New Parent Support, Breast/Chest feeding and more classes in March 2020. Because of continued social distancing, the rising Delta variant, and the fact that we work with sensitive populations (pregnant people and infants) we are taking it very slowly to reintroduce in person offerings.
How this organization adapted to changing conditions caused by COVID-19:
We switched all class offerings to be virtual on Zoom, built an online store for our products and rentals, introduced curbside pickup, and created a social network for our parents to connect. Babies do not stop coming and families needed us more than every - we stepped up to continue our important work!
Innovations the organization intends to continue permanently after the pandemic:
The virtual class program we began offering for the first time this past year was a success and it allowed us to support folks who could not have attended otherwise. We will continue offering some mix of virtual classes into the future to allow for this greater reach and accessibility to our offerings.
