The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
The COVID crisis presented several opportunities to look at current practices that were impacted and envision better ways of accomplishing results. Specifically, we learned how to better use technology to broaden our outreach to adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer beyond the communities where we have a physical location. All our in-person peer programs transitioned to a virtual format and led to the development of a mobile wellness app that will house a range of on-demand fitness and nutrition programs, as well as daily new content, designed to help AYAs take control of their return to health while developing new, healthy habits. As COVID restrictions are lifted, our in-person programs have resumed but are still accessible virtually for those unable to attend.
