Rainbow Railroad

Mission

Rainbow Railroad is an international non-profit organization with headquarters in New York and Toronto dedicated to helping LGBTQI+ people escape state-sponsored violence and persecution. In a time when there are more displaced people than ever, LGBTQI+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia. These factors either displace them in their own country or prevent them from escaping harm. Since its founding in 2006, the organization has helped over 19,000 LGBTQI+ individuals find safety through emergency relocation, crisis response, cash assistance, and other forms of assistance.

1.Working to expand both the programs & fundraising teams to increase capacity to support people. Hired new Director of Development in the past year and looking to hire a CFO and IT support.
2.Continue to increase our network to expand the reach of the new programs developed within the last year.
3.Creating an advocacy plan to use our organization's legitimacy to advocate for global LGBTQ+.
