We applied for and received the PPP loans which enabled us to retain our full staff. Paying for multiple COVID tests for our trainers to travel outside their respective countries added additional expenses to our program costs.
How COVID-19 impacted the organization's delivery of programs:
Due to severe restrictions on international travel, our staff was not able to visit our programs as often as we would like. In country drill teams were also restricted in their ability to travel.
How this organization adapted to changing conditions caused by COVID-19:
We increased social distancing in our home office, increased cleaning protocols and allowed staff to work from home as needed. We also significantly increased the use of virtual meetings.
Innovations the organization intends to continue permanently after the pandemic:
The use of virtual meetings saved time and resources and we plan to continue utilizing these platforms.

We partner with other nonprofit organization in joint fundraising efforts to further our collective missions. We invite other nonprofits to attend informational meetings and seminars where we present on various industry related topics. We are very active on social media and produce a regular newsletter for supporters. We offer extensive training to our partners in East Africa on marketing, sales, and other best practices.
