Many of our missionaries shifted their ministries to meet the immediate needs of their communities. Travel and transportation also limited access and ability to move to meet needs.

Our CEO and senior staff partner with other non-profits through formal and informal networks in order to raise awareness of our missionary efforts and to expand our Great Commission impact.
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
For Global Outreach, our 2021 was very similar in terms of adaptation as 2020. Our principle purpose is to partner with churches to mobilize missionaries to the field and support them while they are there. The problem: COVID and COVID travel restrictions greatly reduced our pipeline of interested missionaries and their opportunities to launch to international fields. Not only that, short term mission teams (that go from 7-10 days) were virtually impossible with COVID restrictions. In addition, we were accustomed to face-to-face interactions with our employees (missionaries) all over the world in their field of service. COVID ended that. How we adapted: In terms of pipeline and interest, we have turned towards US-based connections with churches in terms of cultivating interest in long term missions and short term missions, anticipating the international travel window opening in 2023. In addition, we continue to use the hybrid training model for our missionaries of video based training with limited in person events. We have found opportunities for more frequent connection with our greater team. How our missionaries adapted: many field ministries of Global Outreach pivoted very quickly in the midst of COVID in order to serve their constituents. Church-based ministries went virtual with the services and programs that they offer to continue the relational connection and meeting the spiritual needs of those they serve. Others who were prevented from doing ministry due to COVID rules pivoted to feeding programs and other forms of aid.
