DMNH is involved in strategic partnerships with other museums, institutions of higher learning, and government agencies.
Museum staff hold leadership positions in, present at, and participate in conferences of the American Ornithological Society, American Malacological Society, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Public Relations Society of America, Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children, Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau, among others.
Museum staff have published scientific papers in the Journal of Museum Education, Bulletin of Marine Science, Scientific Reports (Nature Research), Perspectives on Undergraduate Research, American Malacological Bulletin, Current Biology, among others.
The Museum works with Leadership DE to recruit Trustees from emerging leaders in the community, with YWCA Delaware’s 21 Day Racial Equity Challenge and Conversations About Racism, and with local HBCUs for the recruitment of new staff.
