Mission

UJA-Federation was founded in 1917 to support vulnerable populations, particularly those living in poverty. Our mission remains steadfast today: we care for Jews everywhere, New Yorkers of all backgrounds, respond to crises near and far, and shape our collective Jewish future. Together with a network of more than 100 nonprofit partners — including 65+ core partners in New York — we serve diverse populations both locally and globally.

Goals

1.With our network of 65+ core partners, UJA helps create a better future for children, young adults, seniors, immigrants, people with disabilities, and families affected by chronic poverty.
2.UJA is committed to strengthening relationships between the Jewish community and our neighbors taking action around issues of common concern, such as public health and community safety.
3.UJA is committed to the promise of a vibrant and inclusive Jewish and Democratic state working to advance social and economic mobility among all populations & the promise of the start-up nation.
