Vision

We envision a more compassionate community where animals are valued for their companionship and love and people care for and respect their own animals.

Goals

1. 1.Our programs prevent animal suffering (Pawsitive Training Vouchers) and proactively reduce animal overpopulation (Planned Pethood). We promote Shelter pet adoptions through community outreach, advertising and marketing, and the Leave No One Behind fund with sponsored adoption fees. We offer Humane Education programs to the general public and Spanish speaking residents and to young people.
2. 2.Though our vision may seem too broad or grand, we remain resolute in addressing the root issues of animal neglect and abuse, as well as the perception that animals meant to be solely here for our benefit. We believe that the work we do on the level of protection, rescue and adoption is important. We take every opportunity to ensure that we educate as many people as we can about compassion.
3. 3.We see the need and demand from our community every day. Taking in almost 6,000 animals last year at our open door, open-intake Shelter, it is clear that we can do more, especially with prevent and proactive measures that solve these problems at the root issues. New programs, partnerships, and advocacy are on the Strategic Plan to be implemented in the short- and long-term as we find funding.
