Guitars for Vets

Mission

Guitars For Vets, Inc. is dedicated to sharing the healing power of music with Veterans that may be facing mental and emotional distress, particularly Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and various other "invisible wounds of service" whether combat or non-combat related.

Vision

We envision a world where Veterans have received the support and treatment necessary to be free from the negative impact of the invisible wounds of service (PTSD, Moral Injury, Military Sexual Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Suicide, Homelessness, Joblessness, etc.)

Goals

1.Meet all needs for Veterans seeking our program by the end of 2025 through chapter expansion in Veteran dense geographies. This includes physical services in all 50 states.
2.Our goal is to expand programming to a variety of instruments based on Veteran desire and also ergonomic/adaptive geometry based on the Veteran's unique physical/mental/emotional needs. Our flagship program was based solely on acoustic guitar and we have since expanded to include bass guitar. We are piloting an electric guitar program, singer/songwriter program and are exploring ukelele/banjo
3.We are growing our volunteer appreciation mechanisms in order to ensure the long term thriving of our selfless volunteers!
