Mission

Founded in 1982, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA) is a media-monitoring, research and membership organization devoted to promoting accurate and balanced coverage of Israel and the Middle East. CAMERA fosters rigorous reporting, while educating news consumers about Middle East issues and the role of the media. A non-partisan organization, CAMERA takes no position with regard to American or Israeli political issues or with regard to ultimate solutions to the Arab-Israeli conflict. CAMERA's combination of rigorous monitoring, research, fact-checking, careful analysis, and grassroots efforts have had a documented impact.

1.Many of the false and misleading claims we deal with are first published in Middle East news outlets. We have expanded our analysis of Hebrew and Arab news sources, with dedicated staff and web sites.
2.Rather than just responding to bad coverage, we increasingly prevent it by educating and helping journalists and other content producers, with, for example, fact sheets and videos about key topics.
3.Our new Educational Institute is devoted to K-12 education, which is increasingly anti-Israel. We aim to help parents ensure that their children get factual, non-partisan and objective instruction.
