CASA also conducts widespread regional outreach and organizes its members into local committees that develop individual and collective leadership to fight for social justice and human rights.

CASA’s membership program has grown as we have focused on diversifying our members in terms of demographics and geography. Our emphasis on racial justice, equity, and inclusion work has led to an increase overall in our Black-identifying and Native/Indigenous-identifying members, who now constitute 10% and 6% of CASA’s membership, respectively. Thus, our new 5 year strategic plan, co-created with members, leaders, and multilevel staff, specifically expanded the “Who We Are” to explicitly include Black, Afro-Descendant, and Indigenous communities, and goes beyond immigrants to elaborate who we serve when we say we support working class communities. Our new mission, starting on January 1st 2024, is to create a more just society by building power and improving the quality of life in working class: Black, Latine/o/a, Afro-Descendent, Indigenous, and Immigrant Communities.
