U.S. PIRG Education Fund

Mission

The U.S. PIRG Education Fund is an independent, non-partisan group that works for consumers and the public interest. Through research, public education and outreach, we serve as counterweights to the influence of powerful special interests that threaten our health, safety or well-being. With public debate around important issues often dominated by special interests pursuing their own narrow agendas, U.S. PIRG Education Fund offers an independent voice that works on behalf of the public interest. The Education Fund works to protect consumers and promote good government. We investigate problems, craft solutions, educate the public, and offer Americans meaningful opportunities for civic participation. Our focus areas include consumer financial protection, protecting public health, building a stronger democracy and more transparent government, and improving our transportation system.

1.Launch two new nationwide climate campaigns: "Safe Stoves, Healthy Homes" - to speed the shift to all-electric stoves "Climate Safe Finance" - to stop banks from investing in the fossil fuel industry
2.Create a groundswell of support across the country for state-level "Right To Repair" reforms, which make it easier for consumers to keep their broken stuff out of the waste cycle
3.Complete a major renovation of our website to grow web traffic and user engagement; amplify our reports, media work and more; and improve online fundraising
