Vision

The American Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel is the American supporting organization for the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel. SPNI was founded in 1953 to protect pristine and unique natural areas from rampant development. SPNI identified and created the system of National Parks and Preserves, now a governmental agency. Today SPNI operates field schools to provide people with direct contact and appreciation of nature. As Israel's trusted environmental voice, SPNI advocates to preserve open space, including marine sanctuaries like Eilat's fragile corals reefs, protect endangered species, expand natural habitats for migrating birds, create urban nature spaces, advance policies for a sustainable environment and nature based solutions to address climate change .

Goals

1. 1.We build awareness of Israel’s environment across U.S. communities through educational materials, events, updates, and tours. We engage supporters who share a love for Israeli nature and raise funds to support SPNI’s conservation, education, advocacy, and community efforts to protect Israel’s natural landscapes.
