Vision

Earthworks aims to help humanity transition more justly and equitably away from fossil fuels and rely less on new mining. This requires that we: Reduce the immediate harms of oil, gas, and mining upon communities Stop the expansion of oil and gas Reduce methane emissions from fossil fuel operations to slow climate change Hold corporate polluters accountable for cleanup and restoration Ensure that the renewable energy transition does not shift burdens onto mining-impacted communities

Goals

1. 1.Ensure that renewable energy systems minimize the need for destructive mining that places wild areas, watersheds, health, and communities at risk in our priority states (AK, MT, ID, CA, AZ, and NV).
2. 2.Expose oil and gas air pollution with Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras and use this evidence to reduce the industry's harm to climate and health in key states (CO, NM, TX, PA).
3. 3.Stop and slow oil, gas, and plastics infrastructure and expansion by working with coalitions to defeat proposed oil, gas, and petrochemicals infrastructure projects in the Permian Basin and US Gulf.
