Mission

Family Promise is a national nonprofit that serves families with children who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Summit, NJ, the organization’s network mobilizes communities across the country to create sustainable solutions that ensure children and their families have safe, affordable, secure housing. We address all the issues that can lead to homelessness and equip families with the tools and skills to regain and maintain independence. We foster community engagement through the optimization of existing community resources and collaboration with local and national partners to focus on the following areas: homelessness prevention, emergency shelter, stabilization, and housing. Every year, Family Promise serves tens of thousands of families across the country.
