Carson Scholars Fund

Mission

The Carson Scholars Fund supports two initiatives: the Carson Scholars Program and The Ben Carson Reading Project. Our scholarship program awards students who have embraced high levels of academic excellence and community service with $1,000 college scholarships. The Ben Carson Reading Project provides funding to schools to build and maintain Ben Carson Reading Rooms – warm, inviting rooms where children can discover the joy of independent leisure reading.

To date, we have awarded over 12,190 students from 4,283 schools across all 50 states and Washington D.C.
2.To date, the Carson Scholars Fund has awarded more than 12,900 scholarships and distributed more than $11.4 million to colleges/universities on behalf of our scholars. While our core values remain foundational, increased funding enables us to reach a greater number of qualified applicants.
3.The CSF is constantly working to expand the impact on our scholars lives beyond their initial scholarship award. In 2026, our CSF alumni mentor program was launched to foster connection and provide support for our scholars in the next steps of their education and/or career.
